William Bryant Cooper (1866-1959), merchant of Wilmington, N.C., served as lieutenant governor of North Carolina in the administration of Governor Cameron Morrison, 1921-1925. Bryant was born in Horry County, S.C., and moved to New Hanover County, N.C., at an early age. He was elected to the state Senate in 1915 and 1919.
